1. Lake Erie State Park, New York

If you’re looking for classic camping cabins on the lake for your next trip, this Lake Erie campground with cabins is a great option. Lake Erie State Park has been previously voted one of the top 100 family campgrounds and is one of America’s top 10 bird-watching spots. There are ten, 6-person cabins with a refrigerator, stove, bench table, and running water (no hot water or heat).

Note that during peak season (end of June to end of August), the cabins require a 7-night minimum stay.

The state corridor trail system cuts through Betty and Wilbur Davis State Park in upstate New York, about an hour’s drive west of Albany. This trail system is the perfect way to explore the park, known for its rolling meadowlands, hardwood forests, and two fishing ponds.
