1. Pound Cake and Berry Campfire Skillet
This creative skillet recipe is a modified version of traditional pound cake. We love it because it’s easy to make over the campfire and it still tastes fresh on the go. While sophisticated enough for outdoorsy adults, the warm fruit and melted chocolate combination should thrill the kiddos, too.
Ingredients
4 cups of fresh berries
2 tbsp sugar
¼ cup of butter
2 Rolo candy bars
1-pound frozen pound cake
Instructions: Combine the fruit and sugar in a bowl and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. With a grate over the coals, add the butter to your skillet to melt. Either prepared in advance at home or live at the campground, cut the frozen pound cake into one-inch cubes. Add the cubes to the butter and stir until the pound cake is lightly toasted. Remove the skillet from the grate.
And now for the final step. Add the berries and the Rolo candy pieces to the skillet and cover with foil or a lid. Let the mixture sit until the chocolate has melted, about 5 to 10 minutes.
2. Giant Oreo Cookie Skillet
After a full day adventuring on the mountain and cooking dinner for the whole family at the campground, there might not be a lot of energy left for dessert. That’s where this super simple yet satisfying skillet cookie recipe comes in handy. Did we mention there’s barely any effort involved and it’s always a crowd-pleaser? For extra icing, using double stuffed Oreos in the recipe instead.
Ingredients
1 package of Pillsbury cookie dough
1 package of Oreo cookies
Instructions: Spread the cookie dough evenly in a skillet. Open the Oreo package and break the cookies into pieces. Press the Oreo pieces into the dough. Either in an RV oven or on the campfire grill, cook at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. That’s it!

3. Chocolate Banana Melt
S’mores are a classic camping dessert, but we have a fresh alternative that’s just as sweet. Think of this recipe as a dairy-free Banana Split warmed by the fire. We like this versatile campfire dessert because it’s quick and easy to make, and you can mix up the toppings to please all campers.
Ingredients
1 banana
3 tbsp of toppings of your choice (chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter cups, mini marshmallows, crunchy cereal, etc.)
Optional: whipped cream
Instructions: Slice the banana lengthwise without cutting through the top or bottom closure of the peel. Open the middle portion of the banana and stuff it with the toppings of your choice. Be careful not to mash the inside of the banana. Wrap the banana in tin foil and place it on the campfire grate or coals for about 10 minutes. If cooking in an RV oven, bake at 425 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes. If you have it on hand, top your masterpiece with whipped cream!
4. Campfire Fruit Tarts
If you really want to impress your family and friends with your campfire culinary skills, choose this dessert recipe. Just don’t tell them how easy it actually is to make! Ingredients
1 refrigerated can of small biscuits
2 cans of pie filling (cherry, apple, blueberry, raspberry, etc.)
1 can whipped cream
Instructions: Wrap the biscuit dough around the outside of the steel cup on the fire stick. Rotate the biscuits over an open flame (not in the fire), turning frequently until golden brown on each side for about 1 to 2 minutes. The biscuits should slide right off the cup if browned properly. Once they cool down, fill the tarts with fruity pie filling and top with whipped cream.

5. No Bake Apple Crisp
Yes, this camping dessert does require a bit more time and preparation, but we promise you it will be worth it. Apple Crisp is ripe with cinnamon and offers the perfect flavor profile to warm up fall and winter months. And if you happen to be vegan or lactose-free, this camping dessert has your name all over it. It’s like lighter, healthier apple pie, and we’re here for it.
Ingredients
2 to 3 apples
1 tbsp of oil or butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp of nutmeg
½ tsp ground cloves
2 tbsp bourbon
¼ cup brown sugar
1 cup of granola
Optional: vanilla ice cream
Instructions: First, you prep the goods. Slice the apples so they’re about a quarter-inch thin. In a cast iron skillet over a grill, sauté the apple slices in the oil for about 5 minutes or until softened. Add all of the spices along with the bourbon and sugar. Mix all ingredients together and cook until the mixture thickens. The apples should be tender after 5 to 10 minutes.
Remove the skillet from the grill and top the apple blend with a coat of crispy granola. If you have a freezer in your RV, bring vanilla ice cream to pair with your Apple Crisp.
6. Brownie Oranges
Here’s a fun camping dessert recipe that kids can help to make. It’s a hands-on process, and the recipe is hard to mess up! To simplify further for the little ones, parents can pre-mix the brownie batter at home and store it in a gallon Ziplock bag before heading to the campsite. You’ll also need to have a sharp knife on hand to cut the oranges, and sturdy spoons to scoop out the insides. Get the camera ready for a fun memory cooking with the kids in nature.

Instructions: Slice off the tops of the oranges and scoop out the insides with a spoon. Fill the orange peel two-thirds of the way up with the brownie batter. Place the top of the orange peel back on to recap, and proceed to wrap in tin foil. Cook over medium coals for about 20 minutes. Let the brownie orange sit for a few minutes before opening the foil and revealing your treat.

7. Pineapple Upside-Down Donut
A quick version of pineapple upside-down cake, this cool and casual donut is super easy to make, even when you’re camping in the middle of nowhere. This is a smart dessert recipe choice when you’re cooking for larger groups, because there’s almost no prep time required. The more the merrier!
Ingredients
Plain cake donuts
Canned pineapple slices
Butter
Brown sugar
Instructions: Slice a donut into two half circles (like a bagel). Put one pineapple ring in between and sprinkle a spoonful of brown sugar and one teaspoon (or two) of butter on the pineapple. Place the other half of the donut on top to make a sandwich and seal tight with a sheet of tinfoil. Lay on medium coals and cook for 5 to 8 minutes, flipping sides halfway through.
